Workshops/Retreats:

Meditation Group:

NEW:  Starting Friday May 18th, 2012, there will be a weekly Meditation Class at Yoga Works Mission Viejo
from 4:00-4:55pm

This group meditation series is particularly designed to support your daily sitting practice.  You will have an opportunity to review techniques that help you stay more focused and aligned with the benefits of a regular practice.  You will learn a basic pranayama breathing practice that prepares the body for sitting and helps the mind and nervous system to settle and quiet.  You will also learn specific meditation practices and experience guided and non-guided meditation.  We will also explore different spiritual texts and have time for questions and sharing.
Research by Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard University has shown that “The benefits of meditation are many: the heart rate slows down, the blood pressure normalizes, oxygen is absorbed more effectively by the body, the adrenal glands produce less cortisol, the mind ages at a slower rate and all immune functions of the body improve.  People who meditate regularly become more resilient and learn to cope with everyday stress in a new way.”
Whether you are a long time practitioner or have just recently started a meditation practice, this ongoing meditation series will help you deepen into your practice and stay committed to it.

Day of Silence Retreat
Celebrating Love, Life and Silence
Sunday, May 6th, 2012 from 9:00am-4:00pm
in Oceanside, CA

During this day retreat you will be able to explore the Bliss of Being by first opening up the layers of tensions in your body with the therapeutic postures of Svaroopa yoga. As the body opens up it begins to create passageways for more profound breathing while letting you explore a more peaceful and quiet mind.   We will then engage in purifying breathing practices that naturally lead us to meditative sitting, inward reflection and walking meditation.  In addition the use of silence throughout the day allows us to connect more deeply with our own True Nature, which is Love, Compassion and Contentment.

In the afternoon we will be able to enjoy an amazing Sound Healing Session with Cheryl Angela (www.cherylangela.com) and her divinely beautiful Harp.  Her music will focus on the balancing of the heart chakra which represents love, compassion and houses the Divine Spark within.  You’ll experience how these deeply nourishing sounds can heal old pains and wounds and open you up to love and forgiveness, including the love for yourself.

Your day will also include a delicious vegetarian brunch allowing  you to enjoy and savor a nourishing meal in the silence and presence of each other.
Do not miss this workshop as it is designed to deepen your sense of balance, peace and wholeness.  Plus, you do not want to miss Cheryl and her angelic Harp as her music will not only round up a magical day, but complete a healing that will continue to unfold into a life lived at more ease and filled with more joy.
Please register early as space will be limited.
